Shape cities with Lumion 2024.3
Introducing new urban models, import lights capability, and more
Ever-changing spaces
Cities are in a constant state of transformation. Buildings rise, neighborhoods evolve, and streets adapt to the ever-changing needs of modern life.
For the architects and urban designers shaping these spaces, faithfully capturing this urban transformation is crucial. Thanks to visualization, you can easily gain a clear understanding of both the finished project and the steps involved in achieving it.
Lumion 2024.3 introduces a range of high-quality urban elements and construction site objects to help showcase the full spectrum of urban life, from construction to completion. While props such as streetlights, newsstands, and bus stops help tell the story of cities and the people who inhabit them, construction items like cranes, cones, and cement mixers let us envision spaces in their transitionary phases.
Alongside this new content collection come some highly sought after updates, including the ability to import lights from your CAD or 3D modeling software, and an overhaul of the paint placement tool. Keep reading for a more in-depth look at what’s new.
Import and illuminate
Objects and structures may shape a city, but light reveals its true character. Whether it’s the glow of a streetlamp or the flood of construction lights, lighting transforms how we experience urban spaces. Inside, lighting redefines rooms, shaping mood and highlighting design elements.
In Lumion 2024.3, you can now import spotlights and omnilights directly from your CAD or 3D modeling software, streamlining your workflow by integrating lights with your model. Supported formats include FBX, Collada, glTF, and DWG, with adjustable brightness, color, and cone angle.
For AutoCAD and BricsCAD users, IES profiles are imported seamlessly, offering full control over lighting. Linked lights move with your model and are easy to manage, with tools for restoring or adjusting them directly within Lumion.
Urban essentials
The new collection of outdoor and construction-themed assets reflects the rich diversity of urban environments. These versatile objects and materials can effectively depict a wide range of situations commonly encountered in urban settings. Use and combine them in your scenes to capture the details of city life that make your designs feel truly authentic.
