Tell stories with animation in Lumion 2024.2
Introducing the new range of animated characters
Dynamic design
When communicating a design, a compelling narrative is essential. But how do you tell a story that truly resonates? Animation is the key.
Through motion, you can capture the essence of your design in a way that static images alone can’t. You can illustrate your vision more vividly, turning abstract ideas into relatable and engaging experiences.
In the latest version of Lumion, you’ll find 103 brand-new animated characters in the library, designed to infuse instant vitality into any scene. Keep reading to explore the full range of animated characters and discover the additional updates available in Lumion 2024.2.
Humanizing spaces
Animated characters help a space look and feel lived-in like nothing else. With their lifelike movements, they effectively showcase a design’s potential by demonstrating exactly how its intended occupants might interact with it.
The new collection introduces a diverse range of characters to the Lumion Library, with models suited to a variety of settings, including hospitality, healthcare, childcare, and business.
Discover people walking, presenting, making phone calls, taking photos, playing sports, and much more.
Connecting designs and users
Make your designs relevant and appealing to their future occupants. Choose the right animated characters for each space to clearly demonstrate how your designs address their needs and enhance their experience.

Storytelling through shadows
An important story to tell in any visualization is how a space interacts with natural light. By simply adjusting the sun, you can illustrate different times of day, weather conditions, and atmospheres.
In Lumion 2024.2, the sun disk size slider affects the shadows it casts while ray tracing is enabled. Make the sun disk larger to produce softer shadows, and smaller to create sharper ones.
Don’t miss a single detail
In the latest release, the preview thumbnails in the material library have been enlarged, allowing you to see the details of your favorite textures more clearly than ever.
